Sirius Radio Install!!

I was trying to figure out a place where I could mount my radio without hacking anything to the dash or anything like that. I settle on the cup holder, it isn't in the way while drive but yet it is still very accessible. In oder to get it in there like this I had to mount the unit upside down on the mount to get it to face me the right way.

For the power, I hard wired the power into the fuse for the sunroof and I grounded it on one of the bolt to the floor also located by the fuse panel. For the antenna I simply ran the wires through the dash and in behind the stereo and poked the end out right under the heater controls. There is a big enough gap there to just squeeze the plug through. I mounted the antenna on the dash right by the boost guage. I didn't want it outside the car and I still get full signal where it is sitting now!!

Let me know what you guys think. This was the cleanest install I could come up with.

Let me ask you a question. I basically have mine mounted the same way. My problem is that I have it wired to the dash fuse, and when i shut the car off, the radio stays on. Why is this? My main reason for wiring it into the fuse box is so it would turn on and off when the car was turned on/off.

Depending on what fuse you have it running to, you may have it hooked up to a power source that never turns off. You need to wire it to a wire that only has power when the ignition is turned on.

Try using the Sunroof fuse if you have one. It's a 15 amp fuse in the fuse box on the passenger side of the center console.

If you can't get it figured out, we are only about a half hour away from each other, we can meet up and I'll give you a hand if needed
