Speaker Question

I am looking into replacing my stock speakers with some aftermarket speakers. I read the sticky on the Audio FAQs and wanted more info on question 18. Question 18 states:

18.) I want to replace my speakers what sizes are they and how do i do it?

All cobalts have the same speakers. 6.5" in the front door and 6X9 in the rear deck. For the cobalts with the pioneer package the speaker is just held on via 4 screws and can be replaced easily. For the non pioneer people the stock speaker is actually built into the braket that is bolted on the door. To my knowledge you cant order the ones that come in the pioneer package (that would be too easy) so you must fabricate something yourself. A piece of wood is normally what i would use. Cut to the size of the stock speaker/bracket thing with a speaker cutout.
The area bolded is what i would like more info on. Is it true that you can not buy the pioneer brackets and if so if anyone has replaced the non pioneer speakers how did you go about mounting them? Also is there a how to for such a thing?

when i replaced my front speakers in my 07 non pioneer setup, the speakers where just screwed in the door and the bracket had heavyduty double sided tape. i ordered my polk speakers from crutchfield and they came with a bracket to fit them into the stock spot, but the holes didn't line up so i used some screws to keep the bracket in place, then mounted the tweeters next to the door handle.
