Speaker, subwoofer and alternator Q's
Assuming I would have the premium soundsystem, does anyone have specs for the following items?
1. Size and speaker location?
2. Speakers power handling?
3. Head unit power output?
4. Subwoofer power handling?
5. Subwoofers internal volume (side mount trunk chamber)
6. Alternator Amperage? I.E 70 or 100 amps, etc...
Sorry, I read the FAQ, it just didn't have these questions in there that I saw.

I do not have the permium sound system but I can answer a few of your questions.
1. The speakers are 6.5's in the door, tweeters (I think mounted on the apillar), 6x9's on the rear deck, and 10" on driverside behind the wheel of the trunk.
3. The head unit does not have a power output there is a seperate amplifier that is 260-W from everything that I have read
5. I can't remember where I read this and I can not find it again so I may just be making this up but for some reason I thought it was .7sq feet.
6. 105 amp alternator

You guys have a decent amount of stuff to work with, that's good.
Assuming you can rewire that sub enclosure, you can probably put a decent driver in there.
The alternator allows for a good 900 RMS system before major overhaul, unless your car pulls alot of amperes for just systems alone. Atleast a very nice system can go in unless your doing DB drags.
Does anyone know mounting depth on the front? If you can fit a 3" depth fine, there is plenty of room for great high power drivers there. 6X9's aren't my favorite, but you can always get 6.5" or 7" midbass drivers to throw in there.
and from what I saw during a drive, they are mounted A-pillar, I believe pioneer system? Also, is the battery in the trunk? If so, that is a HUGE +

Anyone know if the DSp for the sound package is in the amp or in the head unit?
Also what is the connection between the headunit and amp, for the love of god not say digital.

If the speakers are powered by the amp, and NOT the head unit directly, I'd say it was a dead-head, and therefore probably a high voltage line, such as a 4 pin harness or a simple speaker wire.

Battery is in the trunk.... You CAN fit a pair of full size yellow tops beside each other if you want to.. I did anyways
If you are replacing everything, do yourself a favor and replace the stock deck and amp

There is a stinger battery in there with the stock and the spare still in there. The stinger is not hooked up but there is enough room for the battery relay and all the wiring as well.

Fiero, what setup do you run Audio wise? And if you replaced the alternator, did you test how much it could take before the lights dimmed?
Also, does anyone know what idles draw the Cobalt SS pulls?
Sorry for so many Q's, I just didn't see the answer or links at the sticky up top.
