Steering Wheel Controls

Ok, this is a little different than most people's problems.

I bought the car used, and the controls dont work. I took the stereo out, and it appears they had an aftermarket headunit prior, and then put the factory unit back in before selling.

as far as I can tell everything is plugged in correctly, I didnt see any cut or loose wires.

Can anyone point me in the direction I need to figure out whats up? which wire going to the stereo is the control wire?

Yea, cruise control works and no airbag light on the dash, so I guess I could assume the clockspring is still functional.

I just need to know out of the harness which wires control the buttons, so I can see if the previous owner fucked anything up.
