Steering Wheel controls
hey guys I am new to the fourm. I have and had many questions (most I found the answers on this fourm) I just bought a 07 Pontiac G5 I know you can swap parts between the Cobalt and the G5. My question is my car did not come with the extra sound package, I am not really worried bout the sub but I was wounderin weather there is a way to switch the steering wheel, and what I would need, also with the tweeters on the doors are there wires there already or do I have to run my own. Thanks in advance

.... I'm not quite sure what your talking about... but i'll give it a try...
Yes, you can swap your steering wheel....
Case 1 -> You lose your steering wheel button functionality when you swap
Case 2 -> You add new buttons on to the new steering wheel (if it didn't already come with them), figure out the resistance on each button on the factory steering wheel, and mimic the factory buttons with your new custom ones. Also, (if you car is like mine) you would have to add on cruise control, and DIC buttons as well.
My advice is to not do this at all, unless you have alot of custon car knowledge, or have a very trusting friend who does!
As far as the tweeters in the door.... yes, there are wires going to them.... but I don't understand what your asking about them.

ok i will try to explain better i know it wasnt that good. i have a pretty much base line G5 i would like the steering wheel with the audo controls on it mine just has the DIC. Is the wire harness already there for the conrols or do i have to put it in. Also the same with the tweeters, do the cars come prewired or do you have to run your own wires. sorry for the miss understanding

I don't have a clue...
I guess the question to ask is -> is your factory deck the same as the models with the steering wheel controls?
If it's different I'd suggest swapping out the steering wheel and deck at the same time... or doing the steering wheel, with an aftermarket deck and an interface.
