Hey guys gonna be doing an install on a friends 05 cobalt base model soon, I need to know what size speakers are in the front and rear of the car, thanks

 

FACTORY OF A BASE 5.25 front, 6x9 in the back........ fyi, have fun making custom brackets for the door speakers. They are molded into the bracket you just can’t screw them out and put new speakers in the bracket. I think a lot of people are just buying a larger speaker then screwing them into the metal. I used kappa 5.25 and made a bracket with Plexiglas and dynamat. If anyone knows of somewhere that makes a custom bracket for the cobalt doors please post because I would like to know…

 

ok ill have to take a look when he comes back for a visit before we do the install... fabing stuff is easy for me as i have been do custom work in this field for a few years now and am going to school for it this summer....

BTW do you have any pics of the bracket you made, might help me wit some ideas as well as others thanks

 

wtf? no... 6.5 in the fronts... i JUST changed mine out like 2hours ago...

i bought the alpine typeR 6.5inch coaxials... they came with a nice bracket, worked great, just added 2 screws

 

6.5" is alot more of a standard size which is why i guessed that originally what they would be, ill go ahead and get 6.5's and if they arent the right size then ill just fabricate a mount for them
