Hello all, I'm still new here but I recently bought my Cobalt SS/SC but the douche canoe took the stock subwoofer out. Now I'm trying to replace it but bestbuy is trying to make me buy a $200 amp to run a stupid $100 10" sub. If anyone could help, on what kinda sub would work without having to buy a bigger amp or throwing down loads of money just to have better music quality that would be awesome. Maybe even a different route to go about all of this, thank you in advance.

 

it has the pioneer system and everything?

 

dont do the stock sub juss get a shollow mount sub in the stock encloser from here and get a used amp gunna be way cheaper

 

Yes, it has the Pioneer system all the way around.

Minus the sub.

I don't want anything more than stock, I just want some bass to my music for once. Nothing that'll take more than what my car is putting out so I don't want to have to buy another amp.

Find a decent 10" sub and buy a stereo and u will like the outcome. That's what i did and works perfect

 

sounds reasonable... can u take some pictures of the box and or any wires you may or may not see on top of the box?

The amp is in ur car lol under the dash. Search around in the trunk for the plug for it, then just grab a stock sub and plug it in

 

the amp controls all the speakers if it wasnt there he wouldnt have any sound so its there. but that doesnt mean the stock wires for the sub arent cut, busted, ripped out ect

 

That's what I'm saying lol. No need to buy a new amp or aftermarket sub. Just find a stock sub and plug it in.

 

The box and cables are there, for all that I know of at least. I'll take pictures here in a minute waiting for my clothes to get done in the dryer, It's laundry day
