Sub box question.

So I'm looking at re-doing my sound system this year, and I want to with dual 12's. My only question is how would I get the box in the trunk?! I struggled to get my single 12 box in there. Is there a trick to get larger sub boxes in the trunk? It's a coupe btw. Thanks in advance!

I was thinking of just removing the backs of the back seats and try and get it in that way? I'm just not sure. Cause it was a struggle to get a single 12 box in there. I can't imagine a dual 12 box.

A box 32x16x16 will fit but you will have to remove the back seat and bottom of the seat I just put a 4.5 cf box with a single 15 in my 2door.

That's kinda what I was thinking. If a box that big will fit, mine should have no problem. Thanks man!

That's the reason I downgraded to a single 8 in a 1 cu.ft box. I don't know if I would call an American Bass VFL8 a downgrade though

I plan to run two Alpine SWR-12D2's with an MRX-M240 amp at 2 ohms.

I would pair those to a Rockford Fosgate Power series amp. I would suggest a T1000-1bdCP, and run them at 1 ohm. Also those speakers like to have the correct airspace, if I were you i would build a custom box for them. Its not easy in our cars but it is doable and you will be a lot happier than with a custom box than those crappy pre-made boxes.

May I ask why? Because if I get the MRX-M240 I would be running 2400 watts at 2ohms. Instead of 1000 watts at 1ohm with the T1000-1bdCP. Maybe I'm missing something here.

You should be fine with 2400 RMS

Because first of all those subs will not take all 2400watts they wont even handle all the power out of the T1000, and secondly your lights are going to dim like a son of a b***h. TRUST ME, I do this for a living, unless you plan on running secondary batteries and a bigger alternator, your gonna be unhappy. I did this exact setup in a 2014 Maxima and still had to add a secondary battery right before the amp to help with the dimming.

Well I plan on running a Kinetik hc2400 battery in the trunk to replace the original battery. And along with that, I am doing the big three upgrade.

That is the best thing you can do. Have you looked into HO alternators, I know there are a few companies that make them for our cars.

I haven't looked yet. Just starting to kick off this build/idea.

Just to give you guys an idea, this is what I plan on going with:

Pioneer AVIC-X940BT (already in the car)
Infinity Kappa 60.9 cs front speakers
Rear speakers stock (for now possibly unplug them)
Two Alpine SWR-12D2's in a vented enclosure
Alpine MRX-M240 amp @ 2 ohms
KnuKonceptz 1/0 OFC power/ground wire
KnuKonceptz 8 gauge OFC for speaker wire
Kinetik hc2400 battery

Ignore the volt gauge only reading 12.6 volts. I had it hooked up on the wrong battery. It's fixed now.
