Sub stopped working altogether

I know this isnt specifically about the cobalt but EVERYTHING on the internet is retarded and i know people hear seriously know their stuff.

I was clipping my sub. (I knew i was doing it- i was tuning my system and OoOo seriously had 10 god damn seconds of clipping!) Then the bass turned off. Wouldnt come back on.

I took the sub out of the box and tested 5 different (functioning) amps and 10 different 9v and AA batteries. I tried them on the terminals and down the tinsel leads, as they looked fine but i was doing it just in case. Sub has NO REACTION - PERIOD!
I push it in and its smooth as butter and snaps right back.
No smell (besides the faint smell it already has)

Does anyone know what could be wrong? I dont want to buy a different sub if this is fine. +Its rated for 400 watts rms and im puttin 350 rms

thankssss

PS- i grew some cojones and noticed if i push the cone in VERY far it will scratch something. im not sure if your not supposed to... but obviously there isnt much at stake right now

do you have a dvom? see if the ohms of the sub come out to be close to the advertised ohms on the sub, if not sub probably needs a rebuild or a new one all together. Also push the sub in and listen for any scratching. Amp seems fine, otherwise you would smell it, same with the sub. seems like a connection got lost via fuse or something. Check the fuses on the amp (all of them) and the power wire. process of elimination.

I literally went through so many subs, I still have a set left. 5 months ago I had 3 sets and 2 amps sitting around. I also had 2 different amps powering the same sub. I had lots of fun. at one time I had 4 12" subs in my car running nearly 3500rms and horrible gas mileage

Ehh I'm pretty sure a blown coil means no sound..

Btw I can push my sub down very hard and get it to make a scratching noise but it works perfect

if you put a 9v battery on the terminals of the sub and or the tinsil leads and it does nothing then its a blown voice coil. If it moves in or out (depending on polarity) then the speaker is somewhat working.... if thats the case reply and we can go from there

I dobut he lost that much HP from the dual alt...he prob loses his power from all the added weight

And how would it possibly strain his electronics??? He basically doubled the electrical output of his car
