sub under seat
OP, you should just put it in the trunk. too much of a hassle to do it under the cobalts seats as there is no room, not nearly as much as the silverado just referred to. trucks get it done because of constraints on space usually though i've seen some crazy setups.
if you are concerned about space in your trunk get a smaller sized sub with a smaller magnet and that's a bit more shallow. then you could do a smaller box in your trunk. though i wanna tell ya, the bigger boxes usually help to make the bass pronounced and being that a car like ours kinda sucks as a sound stage choosing a speaker/amp combo is a little more thought-worthy as to enhance and maximize the audio capabilities of the car.
this all said, i had to sacrifice a nice larger ported sub box for a much smaller sealed box when i decided to install the carpc. while the sealed box does give a sharper bass, the follow-thru is not like it was with the larger port box. still sounds amazing but damn this sound stage.
right ive done 4 rf 8s in a 2006 body style 4 door truck before. also re audio dd audio and kicker off the top of my head.
its simple math take out a measuring tape and measue from the floor (which is higher due to the support beam and the AC duct over that) and measure to the lowest point of the seat. then find a sub and add at the very minimum a 1/2 an inch to that and you have what is possible but will sound like ****.
I mean unless your cutting out the floorboard to make this happen your better off buying lottery tickets or something bc its a huge waste of money
