Subs

Ok quick question, I love my 10" but I want more. I wanna put two 12" or 15" subs in the back but keep the stock 10" but I dont want an aftermarket headunit. Is there any way. I know that in my boyfriends SVTF it couldnt be done. but I was wondering if it was different for the Cobalt

You could use an Inline Converter on the rear speakers to tap them and get your outputs. You would need another amp, but then you would just hook the amp up like normal, then plug the RCAs provided from the converter in and then run the speaker wire to your new subs. Provide a Power/Ground/Remote to the new amp and your set.

The sound quality has been said to be worse than perfect, but unless your wanting extremely nice SQ a lot of people can't tell the difference.

keep the 10 and add 2 more 10's you regret putting subs bigger then 10" in the car.

lol why regret bigger subs... i personally wouldnt recomend mixing diff sizes of subs but a good pair of 12s would do fine.... lol you can probably even find a sub that uses .6 cubes and cut a bigger hole (assuming it would fit depth wise)

yeah....but dude....id personnally recommend getting a new h/u....the bass controls alone make it worth it....2 10" should do the trick, depending on the subs u get

give it awhile...you'll get used to it, my last car i had over 139dB in the cabin and i didnt think it was lound enough. I sold that setup to a kid here at work and now i listen to it and i'm like "how did i ever survive that?"

I think that means i'm getting old

Thats cool, what was your setup? My Pioneer 12 hits around 128 in the front of the car (with music, I'm sure I could get more out of it with test tones) in a 1.25' sealed box. Been kicking around the idea of trying out a ported box and/or a different sub. This is with an Alpine MRD-M605 amp, 600watts RMS into 2 ohms.

2 -12" Eclipse Subs

Check the Classifieds for my subs that are for sale. Dirt cheap! You can find the auction on Ebay.
