Switching to Pioneer 7spkr System

Alright here's the deal. I've got the MP3 playing head unit, but i want to upgrade to the pioneer 7 speaker system.

Just curious on what i need?

- 7 speakers, Amp, and Sub? I missing anything important...

I dont know **** about sound systems, but i've heard the pioneer system and sounds good enough for me.

Got a wrecked balt im gonna be pullin this off of, so just want to make sure i'm grabbin everything.

any help would be appreciated,

Thanks

Ya, thats all of it, but unless its free, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. Though I have to admit that its a world of difference from the paper stock crap that I have.

You may want to confirm the connections to the mp3 system to make sur eyou have all of those.

The 7-speaker system includes tweeters as a part of the speakers, no? Make sur eyou get the moldings for those (if they're there... my memory is failing me).

you guys are nuts. you should replace the head unit first and the 6X9 with a component set second.

I have a set of BOSTON pro Rally's 6.5" that I was planning for the from but they are going in the rear. the front is pretty good. just crap fills in the rear. AMP well ok with the head unit. If I dont find the fronts are doing a good enough job I will find another component set to compliment the rally's as a third change. Sub and amp could be fourth.

but honestly this is one of the best systems out there in todays cars. and I dont like pioneer.

I am all about Alpine head units (high end though), amps well what ever is good. Speakers well BOSTON and INfinity #1 Alpine is ok.

thats it.

I agree for the most part.

I would assume, however, that Beck is on a low budget because he's getting the Pioneer system from a junked cobalt.

don't forget to grab the a-pillar moldings as that is where the stock tweeters are located and you will need the entire a-pillar from each side.

You may need to take the HU too, as your head unit might not work with the factory amp. I'm not sure what the input levels of the factory amp are, if they're low level like most amps (and the HU with the pioneer system gives them a low level input) then it's not going to work with the mp3 HU you have since that has speaker level(high) outputs.

But its very very possible that the factory amp takes high level inputs and you'll be able to use the HU you have.....
