systme in my 06... need help or advice

ok folks well i have run into a slight problem. as i have never own'd anything newer then a 92 GM vehicle.

so i'm worried about some things i have read... airbags... cruise control go bye bye...

are these true rumours? i need cruise or i WILL get speeding tickets... i need air bags as i do not want to die or have any one in my ride hurt.

so is thier any info you guys can give me?

i have a 06 SS S/C cobalt with the pioneer system. i already have every thing for the stereo minus the dash kit and gm harness or what ever.

Thank you to any one that can help me out with this.

I've heard of the Cruise not working, but (I think) it's been traced to drivers resting their foot on the clutch when they drive, which causes the button to stick, and disenguage(sp?) cruise. As far as the airbags, i've never heard a case of the Cobalts 'bags not deploying properly, or at all for that matter.

Your safest bet with new vehicles is to keep the stock head unit if you can. Bypass the stock amp, upgrade the speakers and subs and you're good to go- and everything still works! That's so much easier than messing with the seering wheel controls and you avoid quwerky things like the cruise randomly not working.

If the cruise stops working, it most likely threw a hidden code. You can either get the code reset, or reset it by pulling the battery cable.

Mine's done it a couple times because getting myself unstuck in snow causes the computer to get confused at the clutch being not completely engaged for a while.

you Do Not Need A Gm Lan Bypass For The 2005 0r 2006 Cobalts All You Need Is The Wire Harness And The Dash Kit. I Have Replaced My Stereo And I Have Not Had A Single Problem. The 07 May Be Different Because Of The New Stereo But I Dunno.

he is right, just sucks when you have to install RCA (patch) cables to the amps.

not a fan of ebay. i prefer to suport local people.

i know i don't need that lan thing. i may just wire it up a certain way... but i will see...

first i need to get my componets. the rear dash will have nothing in them... as my subs neeed room to breath.
