Angry too many radio problems

ok so i bought a new headunit from bestbuy. Its an alpine cde somethin. Then it turns out that best buy has neither the installation kit or wiring harness for it. So i searched 10 other places before i finally found it a t tweeter. So me and my buddy wired it up. We couldnt get the thing to turn on so we took it to his dad who is an electrical engineer. He said that there was no wire that gave power to the system was not on the harness. I have no idea what to do. To make it even better the wire that goes into the back of the radio for the antena dosent fit. What should i do do i need an adapter for the antena or what? Im not worried about getting power cause my friends dad said he should be able to figure out how to get it to turn off when i turn the car off. Any help would be greatley appreciated

just get a test light and turn the key on and find a hot wire then turn the key off and cheek the same wire and when you find that wire its thats the best way to wire the power so it turns on and off with the key as for the anena yes you need and antena adapter almost all aftermarket radios need one you can get them from walmart for like $5

got the right idea but not just any fuse spot will work, need to make sure it comes on with your ignition, otherwise you will hafta turn your radio off manually

and yes you need an antenna adaptor
