Type R with ZX400.1 enough?

Ok so I just picked up a new setup for the wifes car and here is my dilemma. I will be running this of the factory cd player for the time being as I want to pick up lowering springs before I put in a head unit. Anyways, So i bought a Kicker ZX400.1 with a 12" Dual 4 OHM Type R. They said the kicker amp has a better quality input to run off the factory cd player. It will be going in a custom box made by the shop. My questions are:

-Is this going to be a good setup? Ive always had Type R's but never only one and never off a Kicker Amp.

-Is there a better single sub setup for the same money? (They sell JL/Alpine/Kicker)

-I've heard the box should be ported for this type of sub. True or False?

-I had originally picked out 2 CVR Kickers in a pre fabed kicker box with a ZX750.1 but the installer said the Type R would be louder. True? False?

Any help would be great as I need to make up my mind before monday cause its all getting installed then!

type R's are nice but im pretty sure there 500 rms?? and since your amp is only a 400wt you will be under powering it...not sure if theres a better sub for the $$$...yea i would go ported....the 2 CRVs would be louder IMO cause 2 subs are almost always louder than 1 and they were running more watts, but it was in a prefab so i could be wrong..

anyone else got an opinion on this setup? They keep saying that the Kicker will be better than a mrp m500 on high pass with the factory cd player.
