USB iPod Shuffle issue

Ok, I bought a shuffle specifically for my 09 SS. I bought a USB adapter for it, but when I plug it in, it either doesn't recognize a song (the display reads empty file) or it says check ID3 tag and doesn't play the song. Out of 190 songs on the shuffle, it plays about 30. Anyone else have this problem? It'll play everything with on my iPhone with the same songs, so I know the files are there. Just trying to figure out if it's a shuffle problem or a USB problem. You guys rock so I figured someone might know....

I was thinking it was the shuffle, but if I listen to it with headphones everything works fine....I'm very confused and glad I only paid $50 for the shuffle.

as a vivid apple hater (yet ipod owner) i'm going to blame them. Seriously thou isn't the shuffle different from all the rest of the ipods in a few ways?

I bought an iPod Nano for this reason and it works fine. I just had to fix some of my ID tags and all.
