USB issues

long story short, the 2010 OEM headunit doesn't like USB keys, it'll often just crash back to FM after trying to read songs, it'll read some but not others (they're all the same format) and I'll have to pull the stick and put it back in to reset it.

any suggestions? please dont tell me to get a double din because aside from this problem I like the second gen factory unit.

Does it fail on the same songs every time? Size and partition information?

My 32gb Sandisk micro stick works perfectly, and integrates nicely. Way better than an Apple device in the cupholder or glovebox.

I have that one, but I get what the op is on about I have a variety of songs on different brand/size sticks but sometimes it'll say something weird and not play them.....

Eventually I'll get a double din and store an actual hard drive somewhere though..... most likely the trunk by the spare or mounted up under the rear tray who knows

I paid a good chunk for it last year I think. I had an issue with it kicking out of specific songs once, I just removed those and it works fine. The only issue it has now is my lack of a music collection Lol

Steve, wish i could help, ive never used mine because im old school and mostly listen to just the sound of the motor. I have had issues with different formatted sticks before, so you might try another brand.

Yes some sticks give issues. The way they're formatted must partition them or some ****.

That's a file error. The ID3/4 tag is malformed or something, run through all your tags and make sure that they are correct and don't have odd characters in them. I know mine doesn't do many Japanese or Chinese characters.

The only songs it didn't work on were some krewella troll mixes downloaded off of sound cloud..... No idea but I've never had an issue with anything off of say live mixtapes or any of its "sister" sites

Transcoding it into another file type might help.
