So I put the USB radio in my 08SS/TC. Got it brand new off of ebay and when I hooked it up there was no programming required. It just started working. Only problem is the door chimes are really loud now so I took it in to my buddy today at the dealership and he tried to program it and came up with the same problem. I need to know exactly what your tech did or anyone else that ran into this problem so he can program it. He said he cant get the BCM to see the radio. Again everything works fine on it, just the door chime and the turn signals are overly loud

 

Did he try programming using the J5364 (Tech2) option or a CANdi module?

Sometimes that'll unlock certain programming options that weren't there before. IE. IPC setup and programming on the '04-'07 C/Ks with the notorious speedometer problems.

 

He tried programming with the tech2. He gave me a printout of the vehicle build if that help any. He also wrote down the part number of the new radio and told me to do more research on here so here I am haha. You a tech?

I'm a tech, yes. Just never ran into this situation before. Usually when I switch radios its for the same P/N from the same year. If i get a chance at work I'll fiddle with my car and a Tech 2 to see if I can find a way to add radio P/Ns to the BCM.

 

Yeah, Well its been done before according to a post on this site. Let me know when you find something out. You think youll have a chance tommorow? If you find something you gotta give me detailed instructions to pass on to him
