Want to install radio in 08 SSTC

I would like to change my head unit in my SStc, this may sound dumb but will I loose the DIC by doing this?

nope! You need to get the gm-lan harness in order to retain the door chime, signal ticks, warning chimes and whatnot. Also you will need a pac adapter to retain the steering wheel controls.
