why is my amp shutting off!!

i have been trying to figure this out all day. whenever i turn up the music the danm amp shuts off. i have had 3 systems in the past and done my homework on car audio.. i am stumped. i changed my remote wire to an acc. wire, did nothing. i turned the volt sensitivity down... helps a little. but not much. if i turn it up just a little more the amp goes into protect mode. then i turn the cd played down and it turns back on... im pretty sre i have a good ground too.

Your amp probably has a OHM Cut off so that it won't ovrheat most are set at either 4 ohms or maybe 2 ohms. Do you have dual voice coils on your subs? If so you will have to find a diagram that will show you how to wire them so that they are at 8 ohms and then run them parallel on the amp to bring them at 4 ohms.

I had to do this to mine anyway.

the subs are dual v-c 1 ohm stable. the amps are supose to be able to run at 1 ohm. i will look at the box again. hold on a sec.

its not that the subs can't handle it. The amp most likely will go into limp mode if you go under 4 or 2 ohms you need to read up on your amp.

what you are doing is asking the amp to perform outside of its ability which is causing the amp to clip out, and what brand amp is it, most say the are 2 ohm stable but the heat produced by that little of resistance causes it to thermal protect which sounds like your problem, and im sorry but i have never seen any kenwood run 1ohm stable. the problem lies in the ohm load of the subs, make sure they are wired no lower than 2 ohms, what is the ohm rating of the subs voice coil.

Ok what OHM are they running at (subs)? Because with the dual VC Subs can be wired to run 2 4 8 ohms.

right now i have taken the speaker wires from the amp, i can run them any way now. i think i was running them at 4 ohms.

i like that head unit by the way. (your pionnier.)

by the way. just so you know im only talking about one amp and one sub here.

Thanks, and I am not real familar with kenwood you might have to do some research and find out exactly how they should be wired up to the subs.
