wiring question and fm modulator

i'm going to be wiring the remote wire from my amp to the cigarrette lighter power.. since it has consant power i will be needing a switch. the switch has a power, accessory, and a ground. since my remote wire does not have a ground what do i hook the wire on the switch to? also i'm going to be wiring a fm modulator the same way to my cigarrette lighter. has anyone used a fm modulator on their cobalt yet? are they safe?

Why do you want to wire it to something with constant power instead of something with switched power? Why not just tap the wiper or sunroof fuse for switched power?

don't even bother hooking it up to that there are tons of posts on here for where to find acc power there is even a how to on this subject...as far as an fm modulator there is really nothing that can go wrong unless the modulator goes bad...should be fine

well there is really no real acc wire in our cobalts. i could hook it up to the windshield wiper fuse but that is connected to the body control module and i don't want to run into problems. the cigarrete lighter is there to add accessories so tapping into the power of that and putting a switch on it is a good idea to me. but everyone has there opinions. i'm just worried the fm modulator is going to sound like crap.

Running off the wiper fuse will not hurt anything. That being said, if you still don't want to run off wiper cct, you can wire it up the way I explained in another post. Run a trigger wire from the brown wire coming off the ignition switch and run it to a relay powered by the battery. Thats the way I had mine ran before getting an aftermarket head unit.
