Ok, so I am looking to hardwire a 1 to 4 cigarette plug adapter with an on/switch. Im planning on plugging my radar detector and 1 or 2 led lights into. Now my questions are what gauge wire should I be using and what size fuse should I be tapping into. Heres the switch Im planning on using http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2062493

??? 14g should be good any specific reason you want that switch? you could probably hardwire the radar detector just fine and use a smaller one for the leds only

 

14g should work just fine and the 20 amp fuse should be more than enough power for a radar and some small led's i believe there is only 15 amps coming into the port though.

 

Thanks for the info. Only reason is just giving my self something to do while im stuck up at school. No real reason to need the switch...just felt like adding one to it
