Question XM in my cobalt

So I am looking into getting xm/sirius for my cobalt. The monthly fees are finally what I am willing to pay. So, saying that is it possible for me to just buy a radio from a balt that had XM and put it in mine or do I have to buy a separate receiver? I think the first idea would be cleaner and easier so I was hoping that would work.

Also, if i have to go the second route, where have you/would you suggest on putting the unit? Thanks

well whichever you do end up doing when you choose which service you want you should choose lifetime. i have it built into mine and i called the place asking to set up monthly payments but they gave me 3 months for free which was cool and than after that i have it set up so i get lifetime. and they guy said it costs 100 bucks for lifetime for all of the XM channels and the best of sirius and if you transfer owners it's a 75 dollar transfer fee
