Yet another, stock head unit question.
I have a 12" Pioneer Competition sub and a 600 watt amp. I got it from a friend with a G5. The way he had it in there was, he spliced the 2 rear speakers and hooked it up to the sub/amp via a line converter, I believe it was?.. And said this is how to hook it up.
My other friend told me that this is the shitty way to do it, and while he did have a Civic hatch that had a blown out back window from his system, I thought I would ask here first; he said that there is an REM+ from the amp that needs to be hooked up to the head unit, but I don't think my 2008 LS has this? He said the first way I mentioned would blow my stock speakers and mess up the sub and amp.

first off you cant blow out a window unless the window is already broken
secondly the LOC is a good idea but you still need to run a remote wire. you can tap one of the fuses or ctsoccer posted the location of the RAP wire.
Lastly the only way the LOC could mess up anything would be if who ever installed it left alot of wires exposed and they somehow touched. EIther way that has nothing to do with the loc at all just a messed up install

Secondly, does the head unit on a 2008 LS even have this connection from the REM+?
if he mean remote wire NO, and i swear this is the last time i post this on this site! THERE IS A YELLOW WIRE IN THE DOOR BOOT OF THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER DOOR, ITS A THICK WIRE AND WILL ALMOST LOOK FADED WHITE. IT IS THE RAP WIRE AND WILL WORK PERFECT FOR YOUR REMOTE WIRE. IT STAYS ON AND THEN TURNS OFF WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOOR. PASSENGER BOOT IS THE EASIEST TO GET TOO..... and got with a LOC (with adjustable gains) it will work fine and not blow your speakers, its just grabbing signal.
