My 2006 Cobalt SS/SC

Hey all I just picked her up last night it has XM Radio, Sunroof, Side Curtain Airbags and Onstar. Here is a link to a picture of the car. Yeah I live off of a gravel road this summer so keeping it clean is going to be a pain for a few more weeks.

You're correct, that would be the first thing I'd remove.

That's exactly what I plan on doing as well. Any comments on the placement of the SS badge? Do you think it sit too low on the door now in comaprison to the 2005?

I think it's too low but I think I could live with it. JMO

Seriously considering cancelling my order over GM BS decision

After looking at pics of the new SS Coupe I am regret to say that I am having second thoughts about the 2006 SS/SC. Don't get me wrong, I love the car, but IMO, there should be only ONE Cobalt worthy of the SS badge. Why I am spending $5K more just to have my car confused with a N/A SS. I might just pick up a 2005 SC off a lot somwhere and go on my merry way. I love the car - just hate GM BS marketing.

Looks nice! The first official 2006 SS/SC that I've seen in a nice close shot. I can't wait to get mine.

You could end up in the situation of us 2005 owners that didn't buy an SS who's cars will now appear downgraded because of the branding changes . I've seriously considered getting a license plate that says "05LS06LT" just to prove a point, but figure I'm just going to enjoy my car and not worry about it. If you like the car, buy it. I agree GMs decision to have more than one "SS" brand was a mistake, as was changing the branding on the '06 models which screws up the '05s, but I know what I paid for, I know what I have and I'm not too concerned anymore and I'm loving the car and that's all that matters .

I thought arrival blue was replaced with laser blue for 06 models. Wonder when the change over occurs?

as far as I know the early 2006 models can get arrival blue, but it goes away by the end of the year.
seems the official answer is as follows:
Arrival Blue Metallic (91U) = Available through Fall 2005
Laser Blue Metallic (21U) = Available beginning winter 2005/2006

One of my biggest concerns with the 2006 was the color change because I much prefer the Arrival Blue over the Laser Blue, so I was glad that I was still able to order mine with Arrival Blue.

Tell you what the arrival blue looks really nice. The is a nice ride, whe I placed my order the only thing that stopped me from getting the blue was the way it looked in the catalog. It just didn't do it any justice, well I am happy with the color I chose. But the definitely the Arrival Blue does look good

Nice.

I was going to order mine, but if they are starting to hit the lots now I'll just wait till they do and pick one up then.
Funny how one dealer said I couldn't order one till Nov. and would not recieve it till Dec.
And another dealer said that they are not making a 06 Cobalt SS/SC....

Thanks all, I have noticed something about the drive side compartment. Mine has gotten knocked out of teh bottom and it won't go back on right. Will the service department at my dealer be able to fix this and not charge me?

Other then that this car is mighty sweet. I have gotten her up to 80 really quickly driving home in the evening. I washed and waxed her on Sunday and boy does she shine the paint is just beautiful. I used Meguiars Liquid Gold wax and a micro fibre towel to dry it off. Also I used Turtle Wax wash at the car wash it did a great job leaving no residue. No more touchless automatic washes for me.

I kind of wish it had the center console and some sportier pedals. I was looking into getting the GM aluminum look pedals but I noticed you can't buy a dead pedal. I think that would look awful without it.
