does anyone know for sure if the garrett alpha kit will tune the 2.2 automatics? i was thinging about getting the kit if it would tune the engine part for the boost.. i have other plains for the shifting part of the tuning..

 

no im pretty sure it doesnt....i believe its just offered without tuning

yeah i think thats what i will do cuz i really want to turbo my car and cant afford to just get another cobalt to turbo.. tryin to work with what i have.. i emailed garrett a few weeks ago and they told me that i could use the gt tuner kit but tuning was up to me to do so i dont know if that meant the alpha kit tuning wont work or they just havent tryed it on an automatic before..

 

well from what someone told me on there i have to send the pcm and tcm to hahn when i get there kit.. i am calling hahn monday which is today to see what all needs done.. i am auto btw and am preparing for turbo within the year.. getting the gauges, pod, exhaust, motor and tranny mount first.. that way if something happens, well i still got gauges and tracking mods and exhaust all done.. but either way i will let you no yellowltcoupe22.. i am auto to so lets hope we have a shot

 

im 95% sure that so far no one has come up with a way to alter the programming for the auto setup yet....... Im in the same boat. I have an auto and I want more power....... Problem is, no one cares what we want except for us. Some companies have tried and stopped due to what they think is a "lack of market". I think how it works right now is, you can put a stand alone FIC on and tune everything yourself except the transmission. Without being able to alter anything with the tranny, your gonna be payin $650 for a new one every few months.

Now I am no car expert but that is what I gather from several hours of reading on the subject

 

well i am talking to hahn right now on my one post, and will be calling them this week.. i have to start a new job today so i dont got much time to call them.. but will be getting in contact with them.

 

man sure hope we have a shot cuz im wanting to try and turbo in the next couple of months.. i seen a stand alone or it may be a piggy that is suppose to work on our trans in another post on here.. its like 700 for it though but i think its pretty much what we will need to run a turbo.. halfcent said that a trans cooler and b&m shift plus might be all we would need but he wasnt for sure bout it..
