cold pipe with MAF relocate?

I keep seeing this is...and I've been told i need this because I'm running a Tial BOV with atmospheric dump...can anyone explain the reason why the cobalts have trouble with going lean and back firing just because of the placement of the sensor block?

you keep seeing it where? i have a relocated maf and i am having no issues. i installed my bov just after the turbo and i installed the maf bung 1.5 feet away from the throttle body. if your venting to atmosphere you need to make sure your bov is mounted before the maf.

Not true. As long as you are tuned correctly you can have your BOV anywhere. Mine is after the maf and it's fine

Here's why .. you can be tuned for a atmosheric bov. But it skewed trims if you don't have a maf relocate. .... This is why you need a maf relocate.

Also when tuned for the bov with no maf relocate this is why it'll back fire sometimes when you let off and the bov opens up. It can cause rich and lean spots. For anyone who has been tuned and don't have a maf relocate with a bov your Tuner should have let you in on the issues or what its.

thanks Chevy i knew i had asked you before but me being a mechanic I'm very curious about the way things work mechanically and I'm looking to get more into tuning and understanding it so I'm trying to learn more about why things happen and what not

I got kinda of this problem but I can't explain it lol. Im using stg 2 zzp converted to air/air system and I get backfire, hesitations at acceleration, misfires, and rough idles. Maf was extended, my tuner and I think it might be that extension.
My cold side comes from the driver side lnf ic. The maf is located at the same distance as before with the only difference of going to the driver side instead of passenger side (zzp liquid/air set up)
Sorry for jacking part of your thread just wanted to figure my problem as soon as I can. Plugs and maf changed. I was thinking on o2 sensor too.

My car wouldnt run correctly with the MAF relocation, it wouldnt go into boost at all.... I run a Atmospheric BOV with the MAF in the intake and it runs fine, the trim arent skewed either.
