crack on turbo??

crack on turbo??

So, just got done removing my old k04 to install my ZFR, and this is what i find.

what could have caused this? Is it just something that just happened, or could it be something with my car that I can do to avoid it so it doesn't happen on my ZFR.

Pretty sure its a common-ish thing on the KO4s just thermal stress

does that crack cause a boost leak?

No, that's on the exhaust side

That diverter in the exhaust stream basically splits the air up to aid in spool times. As said above it's on the exhaust side so no boost leak.
