Actually, bring it to the meet on the 1st and I'll put it in you can go to the dealership later and get it 'officially' flashed.

If you value warranty, which you obviously do since you bought stage 2, instead of just a pully and injectors.....
dont install yourself.

Technically, stage 2 installed by GM will be annexed under the remainder of your vehicle warranty.
stage 2 installed by yourself....gets 12 months PARTS only.

thats not written in stone, im sure lots of people have many different stories on what they do and dont have warrantied...but thats what it says in the GMPP parts catalogue.

talk to your dealership, but anything they agree on, as far as warrantying YOUR install....get IN WRITING.

I'm pretty sure the reason many dealers are not aware of the kits is because they are not all GMPP dealers. You can go to the GMPP site and search for a dealer by zip/postal code.

I'm sick of the jerks that try to pull fast ones at dealers. Don't expect them to clean up your mess when you can't be bothered to throw them a bone once and a while.

This is just a question, but how many people installed their GMPP exhaust themselves? Isn't that the same as doing the Stage 2 minus the reflash? I don't see why the warranty would be any different. On another note, I keep hearing people talk about the warranty and it being on a dealer by dealer basis, which just doesn't seem right to me. GM warranties are written and enforced by the corporation, not the dealers, which have to answer to GM the co. Does anyone that works for a dealer or GM clear this up for me? Thanks.

should have done it yourself. Chances of stage 2 causing any kind of problem that would require warranty work is about zero. You think GM would put out a product that causes problems for them to fix? With your mods anyways its not like a dealer wouldnt give you a hard time about warranty work.

You should have done the install yourself. Its a good learning experience for the future and really isnt that hard.

by that same logic, its pointless to even BUY the stage 2 kit.
why pay $600 for a pully, injectors, belt, and a tune, that you could get done at half the price?

"the chances of stage to causing any kind of problem"

uh....thats exactly what warranty is for man....for those circumstances you dont see coming.

those sounds like famous last words to me.

So how long is the warranty if the dealer does it? You say it's only 12 mos. for parts if you do it yourself, so I'm guessing if the dealer does it it's a 3/36K or something like that? Also, no one answered my question about diff. warranty policies at diff. dealers. It seems to me that they are either lying to you or don't know what they're talking about. Warranties are written and documented by GM corporation, and the dealers have to answer to GM, not the other way around. So I'm just confused by all this "depends on the dealer" talk. Can anyone clear this up w/ some sort of proof, not just what they heard from their cousin's uncle's sister?

If the dealer installs it, it becomes standard equipment on your car.
and will be covered under the remainder of your vehicle warranty.
