electric supercharger?
electric supercharger?
has anyone seen one of these in action?
I really am new to this but it seems like it would work, obviously not as well as a traditional supercharger, but for the price of it if it won;t wreck my engine i was considering trying it.

Like said i don't know much at all so any input would be appreciated.

good luck on the intake, the cheapests ones available are out of stock lol...but the elec blower is funny, i know a local balt who has one, he dont have it on, but i wanna put it on his car and throw a boost gauge on it and find out...lol, but i dont think he wants too
those are just a cheap gimmick. They can add some power temporarily but they really won't give you any gains.
That does not mean an electric supercharger is a bad idea. I have seen someone take a starter engine out of a military turbine generator and two small 12 volt batteries, ran in series to bump the power up to 24 volts. The motor ran a procharger that used a one way bearing on the pulley to let the engine run without the electric motor running.
There was a bit of afro-engineering going on with this but the theory is solid. some major gains could be seen with a large enough motor, and separate batteries that do not draw from the alternator.

Once the engine tries to draw more air than an electric supercharger can flow, it will slow the incoming air down, act as a generator and cause the car to have less HP.
The M62 on the cobalt 2 liter draws about 50HP with a stock pulley. 1HP = 746 watts. So you would need a 37,300 watt motor to spin it which at 12 volts would draw about 3100 amps or enough to drain a 12 volt battery in approx 1 second (if that was possible)

there was someone on here a few months ago that had a Injen CAI with the eRams...
he dynoed it..made an additional 7whp (on top of the intake).
however i know all of the ebay ones are cheap and dont do anything.
