that piping looks great, i just have to hope my installer can find a good way to convert the cold air set up to my ram air setup since the blow by line and mafs are right there.

Ohhh ok. Cause at first they were just saying it as for the 5spd. And it was only being tested on the 5spd. So I wasn't sure.

Good morning everyone! So here are some details from the email yesterday. I speak with a very nice guy at Garrett named Kyle. He was actually at SEMA last year showing the kit. I asked him several things, all of which he addressed. He does ask that don't repost his emails directly, but I can paraphrase.

He again confirmed that the kit will go to retail sale this spring. They have everything but the final tune program from SCT.

I asked about fitment with the Automatics. He believes it will fit without issue, but makes it clear that Garrett has not tested that application at all. There are two issues. First, the tune that Garrett will provide is for the engine only, and will not change the trans control module, which would be necessary. However, SCT tuner shops around the country "should" have the ability to do that for you. I say "should" only because it hasn't happened yet. The second issue is engine position. On the autos, the engine is mounted in a slightly different position then the manuals. So some slightly different charge pipe routing might be necessary.

Lastly, I asked about the swapping of turbos directly at the point of sale. Say if you wanted the GT2871 instead of the GT2860. He said no. That wont happen. But does point out that the GT2860 can produce over 350 HP on the Ecotec, and that's really quite a lot. Swapping up to a larger turbo would be at the end-users own discretion.

So from what your saying. It will fit directly onto an Auto but with some minor fitment issues due to the positioning of the motor. Which makes sense. But when you say the charge pipe mounting will be different are you saying that they will have to redo it completly or maybe just bend it a little more here and there or shave off an inch or two?

And if I read your other posts correctly. You need to have a performance shop or something of the sorts that has SCT correct? You can't just buy it like HP Tuners. But, SCT does have the little Port thing that holds 3 tunes correct?

And asking you personally since I know you know more about about this then me. What do you think the possibilities are for them to be able to tune the trans cool module?

Haha you keep posting all this stuff im getting excitied lol sorry.

Sounds like you answered all of your own questions. Yes, the charge piping will need to be tweaked to fit. How much? Dunno. Celicacobalt will be the first to try it, and he has a different engine, so his might be different still. Yes, SCT's tuning software can adjust the Trans controller just like HPT. Yes, you have to go to a SCT shop to do it. No you can't buy the software like HPT. Yes, SCT puts the tunes into a flash programmer that can store 3 different tunes that you can switch between.

Well you figure ~250bhp, take about 10-15% off that and you should have your answer. Im beating mine up at 212whp, and its gone almost 3k miles. My trannys holding up and so is my stock clutch. That answer your question?

GMs car blew rods at 281hp, but that was under nitrous....FI blows would be higher, so id say if you wanna ride close 270BHP, though 250BHP would be a safer number

the 2.2s boosted should hold 260ish whp if its tuned on a excellent tune.. reason n2o made it blow is because its so violent and made major trq.. it also took a few pulls for the rods to finally fail but in the end it wasnt pretty... remember the stock mani only flows for about 350bhp but still thats plenty for fwd dd
