M62 silencer ports?
tig would be alright if you have somebody who know's what they're doing and properly grounding before welding at the min. power level. 100% risky.
aren't the holes providing extra airflow too?

your buddy would be the one to ask, if he really knows what he's doing he can answer that question. but if he can't I'd look elsewhere. I'm sure it's possible, have you considered the quick steel stuff I've seen people drill dimple holes around the holes you're trying to plug just so more steel stuff adheres to the s/c making it less likely to fall out. roughing up the surrounding surface isn't a bad idea either
why do people do this? if you want it just for the whine of the supercharger then i suggest getting a microphone and sticking it near the supercharger or record the sound and play it on the speakers. You are risking the the supercharger and engine just for a small increase of sound....

The inside of the supercharger case is precision machined to fit the rotors, I don't know why you would want to go **** with that over a $5 jar of quick steel.
But hey, they put 4" pipes on 1.3L Hondas, so I guess it wouldn't be unheard of.
I used quicksteel and did it when I painted mine and to be honest it's not that noticeable of a difference. You hear the whine a little sooner but I don't really think it's any louder. But quicksteel does work I've had mine on for almost 10k miles and have checked it 3 times and everything it just how I left it.
