Performance Autowerks/Precision K04+ with GMS1?

Hey guys,

I'm thinking of doing a GMS1 tune for winter and a E47/E85 tune for summers since I have a spare ECU (my stock ECU) and a tuned ECU. I think it'll be much more convenient to swap ECUs during the season changes rather than bringing out a laptop my HPT and flashing. Or if I just wanna rock GMS1 for a while or what ever the case may be....

Do you guys think the K04+ will run fine on GMS1?

I mean the only difference is the compressor wheel and the intake opening. Everything else is the same.

Im planning to do this the performance autowerks K04+ too. I was wondering how would it work with the GMS1 also.

Maybe I should have added this to the LNF tech thread instead. I have a weird feeling this will go unanswered for a long time

the k04+ will run fine on gms1 but you are going to have to watch your AFR's and probably adjust them, since GMS1 runs pretty lean. Don't just swap ecu's, flashing a calibration only takes 30 seconds anyway.

I could ask Term, but I feel like it'll be a misplaced question. I imagine him saying, "why would you wanna run GMS1, just get sensors and I'll tune you for it and save money" Which is logical. He may even say since I'm not boosting too much I don't even need the sensors.

So basically GMS1 is pointless since I'll be HPTuning over it anyway to get AFRs correct. Am I getting what your saying?

lol pretty much.. But it would be a good, mild tune for winter once you had the afrs dialed in.

Even with the AFR's, the car would use fuel trims to compensate for the added airflow from the upgraded turbo, just depends how far off they would be and how much throttle mashing you're going to be doing during the winter months
