Port and polish on m62!!

I finally got to porting and polishing my m62 last night.. Wanted to post pics so everyone could see and give there opinions.. What do you guys think?
Before...

And after!!

I drove it about 5 minutes last night so I haven't had much time with it but I can feel the low end torque more so that's good.. Also noticed iat2's were a bit lower..

I know the outlet is not exactly straight.. I didn't want to take too much off but now that I finished I wish I would have took more off.. Took about 1/16 of an inch off.

You shouldnt touch the outlet at all....

It is matched to the degree twist of the rotors.

Your inlet porting looks very nice though.

That's fine and dandy....

The outlet port is shaped the way it is for a reason.

The OP didnt remove much material so he is fine, and his inlet port job looks good.

Our of curiosity... What are the screws coated with.. Whatever it is it's black.. And also, I didn't replace the sc oil I just put what was in there back in. Should I change the sc oil? It looks dirty. Same color as clean engine oil and I saw zzp has oil and it's clear. Also there sure wasn't a lot in there.. I thought it was supposed to be right below the fill plug threads but I couldn't see it..

The coating on the rotors is an abratable coating....

If I had my blower apart, I would have upgraded the coupler with ZZP's coupler, and changed the oil. This way you wouldnt have to worry about anything for a long time.

The oil is suppose to rest right below the shaft seal. If you fill it up all the way to the top of the fill plug it will come out of the seal where the shaft goes through. Right now mine is leaking out of the seal because its bad so I know what happens when you fill it up all the way lol. Rather keep the S/C going and fling some oil than lock up on the highway.

I would just park it so you don't have to pull the supercharger again. The coupler is what connects the snout to the gears for the rotors. The stock one tends to wear out and make noise. The ZZP one is better quality so it will last

Thanks for the advise guys!! Car is parked.. I have the valve cover off now painting it black to go with the car and when I get the coupler in I guess I'll be painting the sc. I saw the coupler on zzp's site for $30 and zzp oil for $10.. Should I go with zzp oil or gm? Sorry for blowing it up with questions, I'm still a newb.. Lol. I'm also looking at staging it.. Do u think a 2.8 pulley with 50# Siemens injectors, spun catted dp, mid length headers and a dual pass end plate would be a good setup? I already have a devils own methanol kit and option b. I'm just wondering how much power I'll have and how much boost I'll pull..

It wasn't to make more power.. It was for efficiency. I did my research and know that. This was a thread just to show before and after and start a discussion.. Thanks tho

Look at the long tube header combo, it is awesome. Other than that setup sounds good. Just a couple things you may want to add are a stage 3 heat exchanger and the phenolic spacer. Never have to many cooling mods lol

I'm sorry.. I need to be more clear on here.. I was asking how much power will I add with the stage kit I listed above.. I want to order it today but I want to know a little more about it. Like power gains and if it's reliable..

Most people's set ups have different components (intake, header, downpipe, etc) so it's hard to say what kinda power you will actually make. Here's a good article for reference though.

Thanks! Actually that's a really good reference to go by.. Looks like I should be pulling in about 260 whp!! That's gonna be fun!! I'd like to go over 300 whp tho but that's getting into cams or going turbo and that just seems a little aggressive for what I wanna do right now.. Maybe in the future tho I'll make that step!! Lol
