Question Pulley Swap..?

So if I have the GM 3.0 pulley and hub on my s/c, in order to run a 2.9 pulley, would I just need to get the GM 2.9 pulley without the hub since I already have..? Also, would I need a pulley puller or any other tool to do a pulley swap..?

Cobalt & Ion ---> ZZ Performance

Thanks.

no, your hub will work. however, if you buy a four bolt pulley from another company you will need a new hub. and you won't need a pully puller either, it just bolts off, then the new one goes back on.

how do u feel about dropping to a 2.8 instead?

yea as long as u have a pulley on the blower right now thats bolted on u can swap the pulley

if it was a stock size pulley it was pressed on and requires the pulley puller

are u running the stage 2 belt yet?

I read that but didn't really answer MY question about swapping the pulley itself. Thanks.

And why go to a 2.8..? Kind of worried about internals with a 2.8...

And Yea... stage 2 pulley and belt currently. Can I just use a phillips screwdriver to take the current pulley off/on..?

u should be fine with a 2.8, u can run another heat exchanger to help with the iat2s

but since u are on the stage kit u are probably running the 42lb injectors

if u go 2.8 go 60lb injectors

u should be able to screw the 3inch pulley off and swap the 2.9 on with the same hub

the hubs are the same size, the pulley size just changes

i went from stock pulley(pressed on) to a 2.8 bolted on with a hub

i know u have the 2.2 and when u pulley down u run into higher iat2s after acouple of pulls, as the blower is spinning faster, but additional cooling mods will help with that

but 2.9 on your current steup will be just fine, alot of guys on the stage 2 run the 2.9

maybe a retune is in store as well....boost baby haha

and i believe those are just allen bolts, so you would need an allen wrench. and that's not really special
