Do you have to get a different size belt ?

No, but I would reccommend getting the stage 2 belt. Please, search if you have a question. There are hundreds of discussions about this topic. I ran the 3" on a stock belt until I put on the 2.8, and had no issues. I'm currently using the SFPHQ 2.8 anti-slip, and it works great with the GM stage 2 belt.

Not really. I ran a 3" pulley on stock injectors for 2 months before I changed out my injectors and tune with no problems.

^I agree... I ran a 3" for 4 months before i went with 42.5 and a tune....then i dropped to a 2.9. A shorter belt would be a good idea!

I'm running the stage 1 GM injectors on the GM tune still. I ran the 3" on the stock tune with just an intake and cat-back for a few weeks until I got the stage 1 kit. I didn't add the stage 2 belt until I wnet to the 2.8
