well its done.
its sounding a little funky, gonna talk to vince about it...but i haven't really driven it.
just turned it on and let it idle.
at least it stays on, we'll get it running smoothly

tb issue/how to do the maf sensor switch :
http://s80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...nt=yes1002.flv

maf sensor wired, and other wires in looms/showing how it does actually fit without having to extend it..but you still gotta solder it:
http://s80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...nt=yes1003.flv

supercharged 2.2 running like **** :
(air is leaking from throttle body, so i'm going to make a gasket (not the ghetto way)
i forgot to wire up my intercooler pump, will do that tomorrow.
will also check up on my maf sensor....bc there are two tan wires on mine, and when they were cut they were not labeled..so i just guessed.
will also check exhaust make sure thats all good, as i lifted the engine to get the tensioner in just right.
also going to be communicating with vince, to make sure the tune is perfect through the data logger, and also have him make the changes to the stock 2.2 tb as opposed to the lsj i was going to use.

updates later. at least its kinda running.....

http://s80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...nt=yes1005.flv

either way, its taken 5 days to get here because of random problems i ran into, all the driving back and forth to round rock from hutto...15-20 min drive (one way) and me living 45 mins away. a lot of patience, crazy ideas and team work.
i wanna def thank scott the president of our car club, and his wife marina for helping me and putting up with me the past couple days. food, and letting me spend the night. and of course scott helping me on the build itself. juan for coming up and helping me a lot, chris as well for staying so late. justin for the hoses, and hanging out and the support. will, jose, manny and his wife, for their support and help, rick of course, joe for letting me borrow his beretta (hope the surgery went well). vince at trifecta, chris (bigolred) for all the parts you gave me, paul (06blackg85ss) for your parts and knowledge, casey (hunterkiller) for your parts and knowledge, and everyone on css that helped me out. i know that was a long thank you, but i have to give credit where credit is due and a lot of people def helped/are still helping me out. thanks so much.

yeah there is alot of things it could be, sounds like miss fires, but at the same time with the leak in the TB, and the leak where the boost nipple is at, and the fact that hes running a smaller TB than what vince tuned the car to run, we wont know until he gets to dataloggin, we dont have a code scanner, so we have no idea which code he is throwing, hopefully tommorow is the end of this **** andi can finally get some sleep on my days off

hey haza, I'm just now seeing all of this since i was on vacation and just got home, so im going to throw out my experiences with everything im seeing so far. I'll be updating this post as i go through the thread, so be patient

#1, my tensioner was not rubbing on the little nub, so I didnt note it at all. Im not sure why yours is, but im going to go check on mine and check the clearances.

#2, it isnt directly in the how-to but in my how to thread, i did mention that you will need longer alternator bolts. I used M8 1.25 130mm (i THINK, it was many months ago that i bought them), but I believe any size over 125mm is long enough to work as long as you don't go so long that they wont fit in the sockets. 125-135mm im sure is safe. As you said, I had to go to a specialty store, as all the bolts that i could find at OSH, Home Depot, etc, capped off at M8 1.25 100mm.

#3 as you said, the windshield washer fluid reservoir will not swap over to the opposite side. If you wanted to, you would have to use the LSJ reservoir, extend the line that the fluid goes into (easy enough with some rubber elbow joints and some more line) and extend the wiring for the pump to pump the fluid (little soldering, kind of annoying). I personally just run the car without the windshield fluid reservoir since it seemed to be a big pain, but come spring, i will probably be installing it again.

#4 I couldnt get my intake manifold past the AC lines....it just would not budge. Thats why i disconnected them to put it on and then reconnected them. Im glad yours fit fine because its a hassle doing it this way, I have no AC (course its winter, so who cares...i just need to refill it), and its also illegal to do, since the freeon in our AC systems is highly toxic and horrible for the environment (in my defense, i didnt know it was an AC line until the freeon started coming out)

#5 I ended up trying to rotate my oil dipstick as you have done after cutting off the part that screws it to the IM, but mine snapped off. Basically, be very careful to directly rotate it and not bend it at all, because it snaps off pretty easily. I ended up getting the LSJ one since i had broke mine.

#6 It's hard to tell on your video, but is the sound thats making everyone think you're misfiring kind of a rattling noise from the pulley side of the engine? If so, I might have the solution, as my car used to do that for a while too...especially loud on
cold starts for me.

Can I add your video to my how-to? I'm trying to make sure its very complete, so any bit from this thread will be added over to the how-to, including the 6 issues i addressed above.

dude, take whatever you want. it doesn't matter to me.
i'm gonna be updating with more things that no one else covered really soon, but you wanna make sure to note that before buying the lsj tb ask if its a 6 pin, or 8 pin.
mine is a 6 pin, and the lsj one i got has 8 pins. therefor it won't work on my car. i'll be buying a new one soon, so i don't have to use my stock one.

also note that you need two 120 mm bolts, and one 130 mm one.

and about the dipstick...tell them to pop it off first, then you can bend it and put it back after the bracket for the intercooler is back in/mani

sorry about that ac, thats so weird dude.

i've also got a really convenient way to put the belt on.
you noticed how i have video of where i bored away on those nubs? well that top nub, i grabbed a lock jaw wrench grabbed onto the nub on the engine, and just pushed down. while the person pushing down on that made sure the belt was on right at the top, one other person held the belt onto the ac pulley/pulled down on the belt in the crank pulley area, and another person turned on the crank pulley bolt counter clock wise, it snapped right into place.

another thing is, when you talk about cutting the maf sensor wires to move it to the other side. make sure to mention that some cobalts have 2 tan wires, and to mark off which is which. i didn't do this, and later had a code, but once i flipped those wires the map sensor cel i got went away.

i'm only pulling about 5 pounds of boost right now.
a. due to my stock tb
b. due to using displacement
c. any suggestions dude?

i'm thinking once i change my belt, and go up a size in pulleys i'll be able to pull more.
i'd like to see about 10 pounds.

and i actually was misfiring in that video...it was due to one of the injectors not being plugged in right. once i fixed that, the car ran like it should.

btw, i didn't use my map sensor in the blower...as it didn't come with it when my buddy chris sent it to me.
i used the stock map sensor, and plugged it into the mani.
everything seems to be fine though, no engine lights...and vince is still working on fixing me up with the tune.
just thought i'd throw that in there

i'll be updating with more videos soon, for those that requested it.
i've just been tired. let me know what you're solution is for the noise, as i might have it but i doubt it.

i've just been tired. let me know what you're solution is for the noise, as i might have it but i doubt it.
I just bought the tool that pulleyboys sells. It works great, but yours is definitely a cheaper way to do it...lol The pulleyboys tool allows 1 person to change the belt by themselves. I did just that the day before i left for my vacation...i think monday.

When i brought my MAF over from the pass. side to the drivers side, i never cut any wires, so i didnt need to solder any of them. You just need to take off the wiring looms, and it will stretch. its a tight fit, but it will make it. Also, i know GM has a tan wire, and a tan /w white stripe wire on a lot of their harnesses. I would check to see if theres a wehite stripe on either of those, cause i remember it being near impossible to see the white stripe on these wires..lol

I used the LSJ sensor for the sensor that goes into the top of the supercharger, and the MAP sensor clip on the stock harness plugged right into it. I think thats what you're saying you did as well.

as far as your boost problem goes. Make sure your not leaking any boost anywhere.. Is there a gasket between the IM and head? a gasket between the SC and the IM? is the sensor that goes on the IM fully plugging the hole/screwed in tight? If all of these are fine, I'd start checking to make sure the PCM is allowing you to fully open your throttle. Of course, the stock throttle is pretty small when comapred to the LSJ TB, so it might just be restricting airflow.
What size pulley are you running? I only saw 11psi on a 3" pulley.
