Talking to a friend .. and .. what if I just got an ebay turbo for time being .. I plan on rebuilding my engine towards end of summer with a way better turbo .. will this work for now
The one that you posted pics will give you a "feelable" gain on the 2.2. Just make sure it's in good condition.
I think you've been talking to my bf BlkWdoSS about the turbo kit we have.
It was on my 2.2 Ion. I noticed a good gain with it and only boosted 5psi.
Personally though if he is asking $300 for that turbo I'd get a different one and you probably would spend less.
Here's one on Ebay for less -- SAAB TD04HL-19T Upgrade 9-3 2.3L 9-5 2.3T Aero B235R B235L B205R Turbo charger | eBay
Then you could get the kit that we are selling and wouldn't take but a day to install it. That's all it took to install it on my car.

its a friend im buying off of so i dont mind. so set at 7-10 psi ill notice a big gain on the 2.2 with parts from your turbo kit? it only took you a day? i was planning a whole weekend in may or april
The turbo is what will make it to where you notice gains. The kit I have will just make it easy to install.
Personally I'd get a new turbo if I were you. The kit of I have has the exhaust manifold, coolant lines and hoses, intercooler, bov, and piping.
If you know how to set up a turbo kit then it's pretty easy. And yeah the kit that was on my car only took us a day to set up.
You can continue to use your stock intake manifold and run your piping to your throttle body, that's what I did. Others may tell you that you should get a custom intake manifold but for the amount that I was boosting I didn't need it. Once you upgrade your internals and plan on boosting more then you will need a custom intake manifold from rd fabs or etc
connect turbo to exhaust mani
connect exhaust mani to engine
connect turbo to DP (my zzp hi flow dp connected with no modification)
run coolant lines to radiator hoses (which I have in the kit)
run oil line
mount intercooler
run piping
You'll want to get some 42lb injectors as well, and a tune and you're done.

i got told 60 ib injectors for what i plan on doing. this is a dd so i want it to be reliable at the same time as boosting up to 10 psi on stock internals. would there be a better way to tell if the turbo is in good condition?
klutch boosting not as easy as you thot huh? haha
but i would just collect ALL the parts then do it at once. why rip your car about twice? just save up cash and buy all the internals you want and all the turbo parts you need. then do it once.
OR
just buy that suspension of mine
and maybe by the time you collect all your parts ill know how to tune by then
