Turbo Piping

iam lookin to maybe start a turbo setup for my car. I was on ttr, and wondering for the piping could I buy the hahn piping system for the non factory turbo cobalt considering i have a 2.2?

just buy a universal kit from cx racing, mine was 88 bucks shipped, came with the piping, couplers and t-bolts, i've used there kit on another cobalt turbo swap also

yeah but how am i gunna bend them and what not. iam asking though would that work? like perfectly?

It will get you close, it all depends on where you mount the turbo/intercooler/intakemanifold and throttle body...

If yo mount everything above, just as in the one they use it on, then it will be a direct fitment, providing again you use the same diameter items...

what do you mean how are you going to bend them? did you look at what i said

it comes with angles and you can buy angled couplers

alright i know iam trying to piece together a custom kit, so what piping would i need from cx. how big of an intercooler? apparantly u can buy an intercooler from them too

okay....friendly advice....

Go to barnes and noble, or your favorite book store and pick up this book:

Maximum Boost: Designing, Testing, and installing Turbocharger Systems

by Corky Bell

It will tell you practically everything you need to know about turbos and intercoolers and what sizes to look for in everything...

as far as Piping is concerned, either piece together a "universal kit" based on your intercooler choose...or goto a performance shop and have them fab you one

Remember....thicker core is not always better, neither is a longer intercooler, best look for one that has vertical fins as opposed to horizontal fins....they can fit more in vertically than horizontally and that increases efficiency without sacrificing much pressure loss, HOWEVER if you go TOO Thick of a core, of course it will cool the air better, but you will be losing alot of boost pressure in the process.....

you gotta be creative and careful when cutting the piping, cut too much off and youre screwed lol
