Turbo question..

Im lookin at a turbo that is for sale locally, it seems to be a decent size turbo and cant beat the price.. It was on an integra.

But I cant seem to find any info on the turbo itself.. Ill give you a few pics and the specs.

It is a garrett t3, with a .70 compressor and .48 exhaust.

Any ideas what kind of power it would be worth?

And if this isnt the way to go, I expect you turbo gods out there to point me in the right(also economical) direction!

i think that turbine housing is way to small to support any kind of decent top end power.
i know paul (06blackg85ss) uses turbonetics i think...
anyways, what are you looking to do with it power wise?
whats your price range?

im sure paul or byan, (06black) will chime in here and lay down the knowledge

yeah im really not sure if that .48 AR will be able to wring out 350 up top. its def gonna fall off a bit and probably not pull as you would like to redline.
as i said before though i could be wrong. id by looking more at like the .60 and up range for turbines.

The .70 is the comp. cover a/r not the compr wheel spec. inducer or exducer. That compr. cover can fit a good size compr wheel so it makes me think that the compr. wheel is good size. The turbine wheel looks old school or at least it is not a GT series wheel because the turbine blades are very strait. A GT wheel, or an F1 has a completely different shape. The .48 a/r will be ok if the turbine wheel is big enough. Your spool comes from the turbine a/r and flow from the turbine size and number of blades. If the turbine wheel is to small and the compr. is to big, the turbo will be prone to surging. I relize there is more to it but hopefully this will help. As for price no more than $300

He is asking 250 for it, it seems like a fair price. I will try to find out some more info on the turbo from the seller.

Why is this? I've noticed this was a concern for the K04+ too (which has a similar smaller turbine and larger compressor setup). Basically, what happens to cause the surging is my question. I've read up on it and can't quite grasp what the concept has to do the with turbine/compressor sizing. Thanks!
