turbo questions

My friend has an ecotec hahn kit. Stage 2 with the 16g turbo, and log exhaust mani. First of all just wanna know if the log mani will fit between the engine and the firewall. I know all eco motors parts will bolt up. But I'm just curious to see if anyone tried a cavy log manifold back there. I have a 2.4l ss/na. Second if out does fit, what kind of numbers could I be looking at? I'm also auto :/

Yes, the log manifold will fit. Its a log manifold... they're small. And a 16g doesn't put out a lot of power. I don't know if their's is a Big 16G or Super 16G... there are a few different variants. You'd be looking at low to mid 300's more than likely... and that's with 22-25psi. Depends on the type of 16g.

Mitsuishi ported super 16g according to my friend and the hahn site.
But I think I will only be around 8-10psi. I heard the S/C at 8 or 9psi on an auto 2.4 was around 224 wheel hp so idk about 8-10 on this turbo would get me

EDIT: Well I shouldnt say 8-10 for the turbo, I know s/c psi is alot diff than turbo. Idk how much I could safely do on stock 2.4..

Thanks man. Still deciding which way I wanna go boost wise both seem to be a lil over a grand in parts so whatever way gets me more hp for the price and for the boost.

Be aware. An EVO 3 16G on a 2.4L will spool very fast and offer a decent power band at 8-10 PSI, but anything over that it will be past it's choke point and simply not produce power. One company found this out the hard way in another community despite me telling them this before hand.

did hahn use a different turbo for 2.2 and 2.4 cobalts than the 2.0? Because I thought they used the s20g on all of their ecotec builds?

A Super 20g is different from a Big 16g though.

The GT2869RS kit is a Garrett kit... not a Hahn kit. I believed the two just teamed up to sell them jointly.

You can push 10-11psi with proper supporting mods (Injectors, etc). More if you're feeling gutsy. And there's a lot more to making Horsepower than just the turbo... so it'd be hard to say with any certainty how much you'd make. Mid 200's would be a good guess, though.
