Hey everyone my cobalt is GM stage 2 and I just put on an Injen cold air intake about 2 weeks ago. Everything runs perfect but tonight I drove it hard and noticed a sound when the supercharger is kicked it. It sounded really deep, not quite a clink, kinda like a muscle car sound. The sound was loudest when I was low in gears and gave it hard gas and boost shot up until the RPM's caught up with the boost it makes the sound. Now no check engine light turned on so I'm not too sure what too think of the sound. I thought it might be the Injen intake sucking in air or the supercharger just having more air just going in? Someone please help me in anyway.

you can hear the whine as well. You know the sound that the car makes when its low RPM and you punch the gas, it sounds like the spooling, it sounds like that but much louder and doesnt stop while the supercharger is kicked in. So maybe its the spooling but much louder, like i said it kinda sounds like a muscle car but also kind of iffy lol.

 

its coming from the part of the engine thats closest to the firewall.

 

if you are uing low octane rating it could be kr ( knock retard), two ould be a clutch, loose bolts i dunno idhave to hear it.
