wheres my boost?!

lately during the past week my boost has been gettin less and less. even when i first got the turbo and my boost controller was set to high i only hit like 17-18 psi. i even took off the vacuum line for the wastegate to see if it was that. a few days ago i was at 13-14, well now my turbo is spoolin around 7-8 psi and spiking to 10 occasionally. the turbo has around 1500 miles on it. could it seriously have gone bad this early? i know i had some compressor surge due to the BOV messin up but its fixed. i checked for boost leaks already by takin starting fluid and sprayin it around the pipes and connectors and still nothing. i checked for shaft play and there is minimal play and the fins are perfect. i dont got oil coming out of my exhaust or floating around my intercooler pipes. so is it time for a rebuild already?

no suggestions? come on people. i miss my 17 psi of boost even if that was all i was pushing

i checked it. i adjusted my wastegate so that the flap is all the way closed. that is correct right or am i supposed to leave a little gap?

the BOV is a type h-rfl and i just replaced a screw that was missin from it to keep it tightly secured onto the adapter and i replaced the o-ring in it, so im quite sure there is no boost leak from there

Take it to a professional shop, that might be your only way.

Have you checked to see if you haw a boost leak which would mean it only leaks under boost? get a boost leak detector but if u want to do it the cheap wap get some ac uv dye with glasses about two - thread tablespoons of it with about 1-2 tablesspoons of watter and put it into your intake side and give her a 5 min run while getting into boost it might bog it a second or so but it'll help u find a boost leak not a vaccum leak two totally different things

i'd say boost leak, exhaust leak, or cracked manifold.. depending on what manifold you're running

I'm telling u bro if the car idles fine with good vaccum-17ish 22ish is good but at boost you lose it, then u have a boost leak. Use a boost leak detector.!.!.!.!

Another thing u could do is buy some uv dye ( a/c uv dye) put two table spoons and one table spoon water into your intake and run the car at idle for a second and do about 3 mins of wot pulls and see if u can see the uv dye . (with uv dye glasses) cheaper way lol

Put it inside the intake not intake Mani but your intake rightnext to throttle body

have done itand four around 6 leaks all were vaccum lines

my concern is that its something within my turbo. ive checked over the intercooler piping sooo many times even took them off and put them back on to make sure and still had the same problem. so i doubt its a vacuum line, but ill give it a try. if anyone know someone selling the garrett intercooler piping kit that would be damn useful lol

If it is within the turbo u will still see the uv dye unless your wastegate is the issue
