^already almost messed up my SS/TC when I got overcocky and floored it into a turn day after I got it. That turbo spooled up and I accelerated alot faster then expected into it, caused me to start sliding onto the grass and almost into a road sign, traction control kicked in and saved my sorry ass. Learned never to accelerate into a sharp turn, just out of a sharp turn. lmao.

Haha nice. Once you learn to control that though, you can have a ton of fun in this thing
First pools up pretty damn good too.

My stock Neon SRT-4 was like that.
Kinda makes me happy though that my Stage 2 SC is easy on the "low" end, and a power monster on the "top end".

FYI, that 350z track edition runs 140 treadwear tires compared to the 08 SS's 280 tires. SS would probably have been quicker on equal footing on the massive 4.2 mile course.

You sure make a lot of brake/handling related posts (and giving advice) for someone who has obviously never tracked their car before. But to address your post directly, one day you (might) track your car, then you'll realize how silly your post was.

It is very relevant to the test. They should try and even the playing field for these lap times if people are going to use them as a benchmark. 140TW tires VS 280TW show how much of a softer tire the trackZ was using when it posted it's lap time . Nope ......no point there.

Where to even start....
-The point of the test
No it wasn't the original point of the magazine test. However one of the points of the original thread, and the purpose of this whole forum/site is about the Cobalt; what most readers will get out of this thread is how well the new turbocharged Cobalt SS compares to other cars.
-OEM tires? modified?
There's no question which tires come on which car. There's also no question better tires make a huge difference in performance tests, it is the most significant single handling component on most cars. --Would installing comparable tires on the Cobalt be considered "modifying"? It basically boils down to interpretation / viewpoint / opinion. I know this may come as a shock to some, but you can have different opinions... even on the Internet. The automotive comparison tests on different tires debate has been going on for a years.....long before the Cobalt even hit the drawing board.
-Other mods?
Why stop at tires right? Especially with some cars making 50+ horsepower with just a reflash --no actual parts even? -Refer to previous statement.
-My personal opinion/viewpoint
Personally, I think the whole idea of a TRACK comparison test on significantly different oem tires is pretty dumb. If Honda offered DOT legal Hoosiers as a factory option and it managed a class win, that would have zero credibility in my eyes.

Sorry honestly I didn't know I stepped on your tail when I respond to your post. That won't happen again, cause you are the first person in my ignore list. I have nothing to prove to you and I am not going to hold personal hate towards other members like you do to me. For a guy call mike you sure act like a 13 year old girl...
I respect all members in this forum (and you are not one of them) and I don't diss on people with cheerleader grudges even if they are not that well informed. I visit this forum to have discussions and not to have myspace type teeanage girl personal attacks. Be a good boy and do me a favor by putting me in your ignore list, thanks.
Have fun melting you super corvette in the desert.

Anyone else find the level of contradiction in this post entertaining?
