Well, rims, projectors, lower it. Or pay it into your loan.

depends on what you are after... show or go...

Show: Projectors, rims, lowered, maybe some LED tails, neons... etc.

Go: Intake, Header, Exhaust.

Three words:
TIRES! TIRES! TIRES!

Keep in mind that I'm assuming that you have the shitty Continentals. Might as well get wheels at the same time.

LMAO! haha, or a bottle of booze and some hot girls ! But like Raine said, show or go? 2.2's are a nice engine to build with and few people realize it. IMO it's the best 4 banger set-up. IHE add's a quick 15-20 hp for about 1000 bucks. You can build your own intake by goin to Pep-boys and buyin the plastic tubes and a K&N or AEM dryflow filter for roughly 120 bucks. Which is better than buyin the 219.00 K&N or 269.00 AEM. Also, i hear pace setter makes a really nice header. The ceremic ones are 219.00 i think? Also, u can buy a good Magna flo for 500 bucks i think. Soooo you're around the 800 ballpark with 200 bucks to still save for payment. If u do all the work yourself that is.

why not just buy the stand alone ecu right now. install it yourself and youll be able to play with all of it right now change your timing your rev limiter your speed limiter. air fuel mix all of it. then when you get anything else along the way you can make the most out of it right then and there

The stand alone ecu? I'm not aware of such a thing. Because there isn't one.

There are stand alone ECU's out there, but you would have to tear your car's electrically system apart and disable a number of systems to make it work.

There is the AEM FIC, but thats a piggyback and it can't do anything about the limiters.

I would drop it into the loan... but if I had to use it on goodies...

strut bar, springs, shocks, sway bar, decent shifter, and a pine tree air freshener.

for a grand you can go to discount tire and get a set of rims and tires. A set of 17" soft 8's wrapped in some eagle ones cost me $980 (not my cobalt)

well its an option he didnt say he had a payment on it or even that he wanted a warrenty. he was asking for ideas. i gave him one. there are plenty of stand alone systems that you can make work. ive seen them plug in fairly easily to some cars and ive seen people totally replace the entire electrical system in there cars to make them work. its nice to have the ability to do what you want with your engine. and if he is gonna do more things in the long run he should be considering it as an option anyways.
electromotive
big stuff
fast
megasquirt
plus many others
all diff full stand alone systems.
