I don't believe there are any differences in build quality between the 06 & 07, only a few aesthetic changes. I myself prefer the 3 spoke steering wheel and redesigned head unit in the 07+...

As opposed to the 4 spoke style in the 05 & 06...

The DRLs can be disabled with the pull of a fuse on an 07, I remember reading it's not that simple on the 05s and 06s.

It's easy on my 06 to turn off the DRL , turn the light switch down and it disables them . It doesnt get much simpler than that.

so an 07 also has better warranty. 100k/5 year powertrain. I believe bumper to bumper is the same.

that 100k/5yr is also good for roadside assistance.

So your looking at better warranty, better radio (with AUX input!!) and a different steering wheel.

And dont quote me on this but i believe the 07 headlights are different. the 07s have no amber housing or something like that. You can tell there different when you look at them.

I say different because 3 spoke may not be better for some people. Personal preference there i think.

Some of the 07 have impala wheels on them . They have a lip on the inside where most ss/sc's are smooth. The computers are 32 bit on the 07's , 05-06's are 16bit .

On later models, you can set the blinkers as the DRL's by turing the the light dial up one.

Daytime Running Lights

And in Canada, you can't turn off the DRLs unless the E-Brake is engaged.

this is so ******* damn true. I hate that my DRL's are my headlights....that is why I changed it to make it my blinkers.

And you get recaros....*Sigh*

07 does have IMO a better steering wheel and stock headunit.

And the 07 has a different pcm.

I like my 07

Out of curiosity, why to people hate the DRLs being their headlights? As far as I'm concerned, anything that makes you more visible is better. I even go so far as to drive with my full headlights on always, even in the daytime... The way I figure it, if once in a thousand times it means someone sees me coming a little bit better, it's probably worth it.

All the fuss about the DRL's is mute. If you don't like having your headlights on a little dimmer as with an '07+ then flick ur switch back and turn them off, OR just turn ur parking lights on. on 05-06 they just happen to use the parking light run all the time w/o the tails on. DRL's lower ur insurance rates! I like having them, it let's me know my car is newer than all the other oldies running around with ambers on.

07's DO have an amber housing in the headlights, there is no difference from earlier models.

I bought an 07 because I wanted a brand new car, and If i was buying a used cobalt now, I would still get an 07. Rajo knobs...
