07 SS/SC WOT Problem

Coming up the highway portion of my daily commute today (floored to the matt in 3rd, uphill) I encountered a fuel/air problem. Passing through 4500rpm the engine fell off violently (not-unlike hitting the rev limiter and having the advance altered by the computer).
I waited a moment and tried again..........same thing. Perhaps it's a bit of water in the gas but I'm currious if others have encountered this just in case. I had over a 1/4 of 94 in the the tank. It has 3700 Kilometers total. First hic-up.
Ideas?

I've had the stg.2 since 1000km (625 miles) without incidence. When the problem occured it was so abrupt, that I didn't think to look at the boost gauge. I opened the hood at idle when arriving home thinking the belt was loose/gone but all was fine. I can't remember if the blower made that "carving sound" so loudly when it was new. I closed the hood and it sounds normal to me.
There was definately something up with the mixture however.

run the gas out and try different gas, there is a bacteria that can mess with it.. i encountered this at work with a diesle and we had to drain the gas and replace the fuel filter, ran perfect after that

Thanks for the tip, unfortunately there is only one provider in the area with suitable octane
for the car.

Yes, the install and re-flash of the ECU was completed properly by GM. Givin your posts, I'm relieved in a way. It would seem to me that the likely culprit is water in the fuel (condensate in the tank). I've been working a mill shut/12 hour shifts for 12 days with less than half a tank of fuel at any givin time. I live in a humid rainy enviroment with plus/ minus freezing temps daily.
If I encounter further issues upon a tank filling..........I'll be back.

Thanks for your input. All the best.

Sounds like the problem i had. Very violent. Almost like the it ran out of fuel at around 5K rpm. Check out my thread in the problems/service section. It had something to do with my CAI or my MAF. Replaced them both and the problem went away.

I've now read your posts in the other catagory, but It's immportant to note that my car is stock apart from the stage 2 that was installed by GM. The ECU in my car has never seen any unusual parameters that it must compensate for. This happened .......out of nowhere.
Tommorow, I'll try it again with a full tank of 94 and see what happens. Nonetheless, it's good that we exchange dialogue.....afterall, it could be a software glitch that commands warranty replacement of components. Safety in numbers.
