also, the name blue devil has been dropped for quite a long time. last i heard was corvette ss or stingray. or possibly even z07 like the mention. i'm holding out for it to be a corvette ss.

Tuned for boost basically means: lowering the compression ratio, and making modifications for the valves, valve seats, and valve guides, and gaskets and retainers, and very little more. I went to school at the School of Automotive Machinests(S.A.M.), we had a C5-R 427 in our 98 Camaro SS(previously it was the quikest all-motor LS6 based car in the world(it was a 427 LS6) , and were the first to get the LS7 heads, before they were supposed to be released. And the Lingenfelter CNC ported LS6 heads? The port design came from this school. Ya think they know something about the LS engine? The LS7 and C5R(which the LS7 is based off of) are capable of being boosted up to 1000HP.

they also probably did the same thing they did to the 2.2 when changine it for the ss supercharged for boost. make the bore and stroke equal since that makes for the best setup of FI. in the case of the 2.2 making the bore and stroke equal caused a reduction in the displacement of the engine to 2.0 liters since displacement is based on bore and stroke as you should know. same thing with the ls7 being conformed for boost and the 'new' (not really new since it is based of the ls7) engine is coded the ls9.
also, there is no evidence that the blue devil is related in anyway to the corvette ss/stingray and many people believe that a test car for the corvette ss/stingray does not exist yet.

IT WILL BE A 6.2L LS9 SUPERCHARGED ENGINE WITH ABOUT 630 HP OR SO IN THE CORVETTE SS/STINGRAY! TRUST ME! I HAVE SEEN THE PICS OF THE ENGINE AND HAVE SEEN IT IN PERSON!

Look at the air cooled VW's. The simi-Halo turbo engine is a 1916cc, 94mm bore w/a 64mm stroke. With this arangment you get the absolute most bang for displacement in a turbo application. But it is not so true in a S/C application because of a superchargers linier power output.
The ultimate ECOTEC would be to use the 2.4L block with the new 2.0L Turbo crank and rods with a low comp piston and the new 2.0L with direct injection head, with the port/valve seat/combustion chamber redesigned for the larger bore. Deshroud the hell out of the valves, because, the bigger the combustion chamber the lower the compression. In theory this should work given if the parts are interchangable the way most chevys stuff is, I.E. LS 1, 2, and 6 heads with their perspective blocks.
http://www.jalopnik.com/cars/z07/ this is an article I found about it.
I worked in Springhill until 2003 and they are not closing the plant the are going to idle it for about 10 months to retool and update the body and paint shops, they will get new product but dont know what it is yet.

Yeah im sure the solstice handles alot better, but performance wise it couldnt see it being more than a few tenths of a second faster in the 1320.
With the way GM is, i could see them putting the 2.0 Turbo engine in the cars, but detuneing the car so its only got around 230HP at most. Then they will sell stage upgrades like they are doing now that gives it close to the 260HP it should be at.
If you dont believe me, think about it. GM has made a killing on the stage upgrade kits for the Supercharged engine, why would they limit themselves now? They know the car is being sold to the tuner market, the poeple will want to ugprade the performance, so they sell you less performance from the factory, but sell you more performance from the dealership.

They are two door roadsters.
Take Mazda for example. I am not sure about the 06 line, but an 05 Miata LS, with its weak 1.8L engine sold brand new for around 24,000.00
Mazda made several other cars with comparable or more power for less.
The roadsters are targeted to a specific audience.
People will buy them regaurdless, even if there is a car with comparable power for 5,000 less.

Cant take credit for them. Just found them on another website and figured I'd share them here. Because a tubrocharged HHR is good news for those wanting a turbocharged cobalt.

Not about power levels verses price points . And hell yes the Sky and Solstice both would command a higher price over a Cobalt SS with the same exact engine . Compare the sophistication the 2 chassis , the interior material quality . If your theory applied , the $28K G6 GTP with the 3.6 DOHC V6 and 6 speed auto should rape a 2007 Cobalt SS/SC ....right ?
.....hows a $30K Grand Prix GXP gonna beat down pretty good a $40K Caddy CTS with the sport package , who would by the caddy ? ....could go on and on .
