08 Porous Block?

Thanks for all your help on here. I'm still searching for the right SS/TC. Do the 08 have cursed porous block? Is it just the 09 cars to steer clear from? I know the 10's are safe.

I haven't heard of 08's doing it, and have really only heard a lot about late 08 built cars sold as 09's being susceptible to it. Some didn't make it 15k miles, others didn't have issues till 150,000.

My plan was to always just throw an ldk with forged pistons and rods in it when it did go. Then I don't have to worry much till I cross over the 500whp threshold, which I never will.

It was just a few months in middle of 2008 for the build dates. I looked through several threads and couldn't find any 2008 cars with the issue. The build dates were from about July 2008 to December 2008.

So as said, you should be ok with a 2008 or 2010 model.

This is an interesting topic. I only heard about this issue a year ago after owning my 09 since new in Nov 08. That being said, a rebuilt engine was installed in 2012 due to road debris putting a hole in the oil pan and yeah...is there a way to find out when the engine was made? I tried getting similar information from the dealer who replaced it but had no luck.
