I called gm as my dealer said it's out of there hands. Now they don't know if they wanna cover it they said mine isn't included in the recall. But my powersteering goes out like 9 times a day. It's a joke!! I'm fighting with them now!

Yes it does but gm says it's not covered for some reason, I'm pulling a few strings and should be able to get it done, if not under a recall but under warrenty.

i went in today and got mine replaced even though it never failed. feels like the steeling is slightly lighter.
also, when i turn, i dont hear a tone down in the exhaust ( kinda like the steering was overloading or trying too hard). so maybe mine was going to fail eventually. but all i can say, after 167k miles, gotta be happy that it lasted considering it was supposibly a faulty product

not to mention. it took them 30 mins to do. i was impressed, but disappointed cuz i was trying to take a nap on the sofa in the waiting area lol

I checked it out. The recall that they fixed didn't have anything to do with the power steering. According to what I've been told they replaced some clips that had to do with the air cooler. This will teach me to get more information before I have anyone touch my car.

I've never had to do anything with a recall before. I thought this’d be an easy open and shut case...guess not.

As far as the power steering goes, my car isn't up yet, so I'll have to check back in later. I just got the car in Feb so I doubt GM would have the new owner information, but I don't know how it works so I'll keep an eye out for a letter and keep checking back in with the dealer.

I personally am just going to take it in. My current motor has 47,000 on it, so why not get a brand new motor? One less thing to worry about breaking as the car ages.

I just paid for a new motor a few months ago. I think I'll try and get reimbursed for that one ($189), but I'll wait until it goes bad before bringing it in for the recall. Safety recalls don't expire; assuming parts are still available I should still be able to get it replaced five or ten years from now.

Sorry for the late response. I got banned the day you posted and just got back to the forums now. To answer your question, the rep was a woman and she spoke english very fluently. I think she was American.

wow even worse, they should have known, but now the recall i released so loads of info is available, so what i posted still goes, if your in the vin breakpoint you are under the recall, a pre-announcement letter was sent aswell to affected vehicle, if it has a reimbursement form with it, than thats the recall letter, if it doesnt than its not the recall letter
